WWW: It’s great that your blog is set up and you’ve posted some excellent work already. Your fruit bowl is outstanding (you’ve captured the Autumn palette perfectly) and I really like the image you chose to use as the basis for the colour scheme. You’ve also chosen an interesting film poster to analyse and it’s an excellent sign that you’ve analysed aspects of representation already – this is a challenging concept and you’re already picking out relevant points in the first month of the course!
EBI: Currently, your 10 questions work is unfinished (missing the last couple of answers) and you are missing the denotation and connotation work.
Therefore, the first priority is to make sure the following is completed and posted to your blog:
10 questions blog task: https://mediamacguffingcseyear1.blogspot.com/2022/09/welcome-to-gcse-media.html
Denotation and connotation: https://mediamacguffingcseyear1.blogspot.com/2022/09/denotation-and-connotation.html
Once you have this work completed, the lesson to take from this is making sure that you read the tasks carefully on the blog to make sure you don’t miss anything. Other than that, keep focusing on the connotations – the deeper meanings – and writing in detail about what is being communicated to the audience.
LR: Post the missing/incomplete pieces of work.
Then, create a new blogpost on your Media blog called ‘Blog feedback and Learner Response’. Copy and paste this WWW/EBI feedback into your blogpost then complete the LR tasks/questions below.
Reflect on your first month of Media. What do you feel is your strongest piece of work so far? What is your weakest? What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course?
I really enjoyed my first month of Media. I feel that my film poster and my fruit bowl was my strongest piece of work so far. My weakest is probably the mise-en-scene. I want to develop my analysing skills over the rest of the course.
