Lighting 

Denotation: At the beginning the lights are flashing. 

Connotation: The flashing lights make the atmosphere tense and sketchy and can be a sign of awakening.

Analysis: The lights constantly flashing on and off make the audience worried that something bad is going to happen.

Props

Denotation: Warning signs.

Connotation: The warning signs communicates risks and indicate that there is danger ahead.

Analysis: The audience will assume that there will be danger or a problem and an obstacle to get through.

Setting 

Denotation: Forest - a kid is cycling alone, it's dark outside.

Connotation: The dark forest suggests the atmosphere is supposed to be eerie.

Analysis: The audience will be anxious because anything bad could happen to the kid at the forest at night.
